LAUREN KENEDY (founding member), from Northport, is a student at St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, NY. Lauren excels in their honors program and has been
placed on St. Anthony’s Honor Roll. She has received their
St. Bonaventure Award for the overall average of 95 and above for 2 years. Lauren is also a member of the National Honor Society.
Lauren is involved in both the music and theater programs at St. Anthony's. She assumes the officer position of Soprano Section Leader for their chorus, as well as being selected as a member for their Gregorian Schola. Lauren has trained in voice since she's 10 years old and has competed in NYSSMA over the years. She is also a member of SCMEA All-County Chorus in Suffolk County as a soprano. Lauren is active in St. Anthony's musical theater department. She has performed in both school musicals and Community Theater over the years. As a freshman, she was chosen for the lead role of Laurie Williams in Oklahoma. Along with voice, Lauren has trained for many years in dance, mainly ballet.
Within the MusiCare For Kids organization, Lauren has taken a leadership role in the making and selling of handmade beaded bracelets. She is responsible for sales totaling over $2000 for the charity.
Lauren's love of music, dance and theater arts prompted her to use her talents in a positive way to help other people. Her goal has always been to use her talents in a way that pleases God. To be part of MusiCare For Kids enables her to bring joy to others, while raising funds for local children's charities. Lauren's commitment to MusiCare For Kids has made her realize that her future goal and desire is to study in the field
of special education.
