DOMINIQUE GARGANO, from Commack, is a student at Commack High School. Dominique is very involved in many clubs and activities in the high school, especially the music arts and education programs. Dominique is an active member of Tri-M music honor society at the high school, as well as an active participant in the Concert Choir and ICA select choral groups such as Woman’s Choir and Chamber Choir. Dominique has been involved in Choir since grade 1 as well as an active participant in the school Musicals throughout middle and high school. She has also been a participant in NYSSMA for 7 years, as well as SCMEA for 6 years. In the past, Dominique has participated in the Rachel’s Challenge program in hopes of creating a more compassionate and caring environment in her community. She is also a member of Peer Leadership at the high school.
Dominique also takes pride and great concern in her education as well. She is an honors student enrolled in the International Baccalaureate diploma program in her school as well. Dominique has had many years of experience in voice, acting, and dance. She has also taken part in Community Theater shows in theaters such as Northport Community Theater, Jamestreet Players, and Suffolk Y JCC On Centerstage. As well as Community Theater, she is also an active participant in the Teen Mass choir at St. Anthony’s of Padua Church in East Northport. Dominique has recently performed in a two month running Children’s Theater show at the John W. Engeman Theater production of The Wizard of Oz. She has also shared the stage with many people in Musicare in past community theater productions and is very glad to reunite with her old friends. She is happy to be able to do what she loves to do with people of the same interests as she, to make a difference in the community.
