Dominican Village Fundraiser Very Favorable to All!

The board of directors, administration, and young adults of MusiCare for Kids wish to extend our deepest appreciation to you for your support of our 1st Annual combination Musical Show & Chinese Auction Extravaganza held on Sunday,
June 1, 2008.
The afternoon was high spirited and entertaining.  The Helen Butler Hall was adorned with cheerful, vibrant spring colors and more than fifty lavish gifts and baskets, ready for auction, wrapped the perimeter of the Hall.  Our success was directly due to the generosity of supporters and donors like you, who share the same passion for children and elder care and the growth of both organizations Dominican Village & KinderTowne.
We raised $4,000 at this event and will donate these proceeds to Dominican Village Senior Center and Kindertowne as mentioned above.

We are grateful for your support which enhances the lives of children and seniors.

We are very grateful to Mrs. King and the Interact group from Amityville High School who generously donated their time to help serve the beverages and desserts at our event. Also pictured at left are Domenick and Vincent Ferrera who helped with the attendees at the door, served food, set up and cleaned up.

MusiCare for Kids donated $400.00 to Newsday's Help-A-Family annual holiday fund in December 2007. The money was raised from generous donations from Catholic Daughters and The Veteran's Advisory Board of Huntington. Dominican Village and Trinity Regional School donated table space at their Holiday Craft Fairs and our bracelet sales at these fairs added to the funds.

Fundraiser for Angela's House - Great Success!

We thank everyone to who was able to join us for a very special fund raising effort for a local charitable organization called Angela’s House on September 23, 2007 at La Villini Restaurant in East Northport. Two local high school singing groups, Artistry and Sibling Harmony ( now known as MusiCare for Kids only) performed a cabaret style dinner theater at La Villini Restaurant in East Northport to raise funds for Angela’s House.
MusiCare for Kids raised $4,000 for Angela's House from this event, raffle baskets and of course, their beautiful bracelets.
About Angela's House: There are two locations on Long Island, one is Smithtown and the other in East Moriches. Angela’s House provides a warm and pleasant home-like environment for severely disabled children, who would otherwise be in an institutional environment. Its founder, Mr. Bob Policastro, created Anglela’s House in memory of his own daughter who was a disabled child and needed around-the-clock care. Mr. Policastro works very hard at overseeing these two group homes and would desire opening another as his waiting list keeps getting longer for children in need You can visit Angela's House website for obtain more information at
www.angelashouse.org

On February 1, 2008, MusiCare for Kids did a show at The Smithtown Library. The East Northport Library invited them to sing on February 8, 2008 for their weekly "Fireside Friday" showcase. Both libraries graciously donated $300 to MusiCare for kids for their performances. This donation was then donated to DDI (Disabled Developmental Institute) for children by MusiCare for kids on February 28, 2008.

MusiCare members (please see Artistry link) participate in an annual holiday fundraiser for The Petri Irish Step Dance School of Long Island. They sing various holiday songs in between the illustrious dance routines from the school's dancers. This event raises money to accommodate the dancers in their overseas competitions in England, Ireland and Scotland. The Petri School has numerous renowned Champions in these global events. One of the dancers ,Gabriella Wood, won the #1 "World Competition" in 2005 in Ireland and was the first American to achieve this title in 36 years. Gabriella has been a good friend to the MusiCare for Kids members  for many years.

MusiCare's girls spent time at Victoria's making over a hundred bracelets to sell to raise funds. This is just a sampling the the variety of bracelets they designed.

The funds from the first sale of bracelets is going to Angela's House mentioned above.

During the last two week in July over the past two summers(2007-08), Lauren and her family sold all of the bracelets and cell phone charms at a clothing and jewelry show-sale in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Everything they made sold out!
From this effort MusiCare raised over $1500 from their bracelet and charm sales.
This November 2007, MusiCare for Kids sold bracelets at the Dominican Village Craft Fair in Amityville and at the Trinity Regional Craft Fair in East Northport. They did a wonderful job in participating in these fairs earning over $200 for MusiCare for Kids.
